Well,
it's 'that' time of year again! We know you'll all be busy being jolly so
there's only one event this month and we've been pretty selective about it
whilst trying to keep in the seasonal swing of things.... and no, it's not
panto!!
We're
off to one of our favourite theatre venues in the city and we advise you
to book asap as tickets for the show are selling out fast....
The Adventures of Pinocchio takes unity’s passion for traditional
stories told in an untraditional way into it’s 17th year - a magical and
musical Christmas treat which incorporates puppetry into the production.
Hot
on the success of In Search Of Fabulous Beasts and The Tinder Box, unity
continues its collaboration with Hope Street and Zho Theatre Co to bring
you a unique retelling of Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio.
Follow Pinocchio’s adventures as he runs away from his father and
encounters a talking cricket, a tricky fox, boys who turn into mules, a
Fairy and a whale!
The story of
Pinocchio will be brought to you by local writer Esther
Wilson, whose many
credits include Unprotected
(with Radio 4 and
the Everyman),
and director Paula Simms who has directed many successful shows including
last years sellout Christmas show The
Tinder Box. Paula also
directed the Latern Parade in Sefton Park in 2005/06 (& Corrie fans
will recognise her as Candice's mum).
Come
along, be merry and get the chance to meet Esther, Paula and the rest of the
cast in the bar after the show.
The production is suitable for children from 4 years, however, all
children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Note
- there is no numbered seat allocation at Unity, please turn up early if
you want to sit with friends!
